Reflection on my Blog:

4.Early in the year, I learned the importance of taking my time in creating a good video. You can see that in ,y first film, i was learning how to insert video clips into other video clips, my first project was cyberbullyng and that took a while to get the hang of. But i feel like me and my group pulled though and our video came out really good. My second project was the holiday video, this video in particular took a lot of my time and i worked very hard on it. On my second project i learned how to use green screen to make it look like me and zoie were somewhere else in the world. A scene that shows this well is in the film called "Final video, reflection on holiday video ( by Blanca & Zoie)." Later in the year, I showed that i really had learned that concept well, since I showed this in other projects. One good example is from Final video-the cost of friendship. We didn't have time to go back to my house and film a close up shot of sabrena biteing her lip so we used green screen, i took pictures of the background of my garage and we made it look like sabrena was actually in my garage. 5.Things that i have learned my watching other films but i can not demonstrate in my own films: i think the only thing would be creativity, not in the editing part, but just the planning. I cant really make up a story.. 6.I would like to say that my time in this class has been really helpful and i want to think Dr.A for having patience with me and believing in my work and effort. My experience in this class was great and i would recommend this class to everyone.

Jabberwocky-Blanca & Brad

reflection: We used the color change best in our video. We used the color change under color coordination, it changed the images color, you can see it mostly on the snake. i believe it worked very well,The mood we were trying to communicate was a deep and somewhat scary mood. The idea we was trying to show was that things are not always what they seem.

Special Effects

Me and Michelle did the special effect project together. We expiremented with many diffrent effects on Premire Pro. The effects were in the folder of Distort, Stylize and Generate. First we did Ryan, we used Distort to make a wave on his face. The next one we used was Stylize, that was on Damaris. It looks kind of blurry. The last one we used was Generate , there is a light on the girls face , looks very real.

star pro!

I think that our video is the best because we sent out a positive message. Our group worked hard to put it together. We also used green screen and didnt have a problem incorporating it into our video.

Final Directors cut!

reflection: what we noticed about putting oour directors cut together is that it was easy for us to add pictures and videos because we had a veriaty of things taped and took alot of pictures. I also noticed it was very fun to work with my group. They contributed equally and we did our best. The process went very smothly, just not in the part where we had to put some green screen because we needed some facial expresions in our video to make it flow and not make it look choppy.I im sure we did not leave anything out in our directors cut about our steps in creating our film.

The conflict was between stealing or doing the right thing. The shots were the close of up Sabrena biting her lip which showed indeciveness and guilt. You could make the voices louder so we can hear the actors. The climax occured when after she bit her lip she decided not to steal. In the resolution the two put away the make up and leave the store. You could add to the resolution by them buying something they both enjoyed for example starbucks. We especially liked the close up of sabrena biting her lip because it helped emphazise the idea that she felt bad about stealing. We think you can add a shot right before she puts the make up in her pocket with a close up of her eyes looking around suspiciously. The new shot would create a sense of suspense. We give the editing a 7. One edit we would change was the shots after sabrena bit her lip. The use of music was good it gave a sense of suspicious activity. One point in the video when the music was most important was when she put the make up in her pocket. It was used to help emphazise the mood of a criminal act. The first run through it worked but looking back you could have used a more suspensful type of song. The title reflected the content of the video pretty well. It grabbed our attention. The text of the title was very feminine and dosent seem to fit with the tone of the video. We suggest that the use of white on black Times new roman font would work better. Overall we liked your video.

The colflict was between whether to give in to pressure or do the right thing.
The shot that contributed to the rising action was when a close up of Sabrena's mouth. She was biting her lip which showed that she was uncertain about the choice that she made.
We think it would help if you would fix the clips in the beginning so they coordinate with each other. Also, we suggest to make the voices a little louder so we can hear.
In the resolution, Sabrena put the make up back and then the two girls left the store. You could add to this by having Blanca say sorry or by showing that she actually felt bad for what she was going to make Sabrena do.
We especially like the close up shot of Sabrena's mouth, but We think that it would have been more effective to show the emotion through her eyes.
We give the editing an 8 only because of the shots that were shown at the store.
We liked how well the music went with the video because it gave the audience a better feeling of suspense. It was most important when Sabrena took the make up.
We feel that the title went really well with your video. Overall, it was a good video.

Dear Blanca, Michelle, and Sabrena STORY
The main character is telling her friend to steal her friends make-up.
Here are the shots, dialog and actons that contributed to the rising action:
1. The main characters walk into their friends room.
2.They talk about stealing the makeup
3. The main character persuades her friend to steal the makeup.

Here are some suggestions about adding to the rising action:
1.
2. You could aslo make the surfing more realistic.

The climax occured when the main character comes back to return the make-up. In the resolution, the main character returns the make-up and proceeds with her day. You can add to the resolution by confessing to the main characters friend that they took the make-up. This would help give us the idea that the values in the video were stronger.
CAMERA SHOTS
we especially like the close up shot of her mouth because it emphasized the effect that she was nervous and worried. We think that you might add a shot of the main characters facial expression when she took the make-up. The next shot would be a close up of the main characters face after she persuades her to take the make-up.
EDITS:
on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest), we rate the editing an 7.One edit we would change was the over the shoulder shots. We would have used a cross dissolved because its cooler. The first use of music is when they talk about taking the make-up. It was used to emphasize the idea that they were up tot something in a sneaky way. It worked because it set the mood. The music was the same throughout the video . It worked because it made me feel like they were sneaky.
TITLES AND CREDITS
The title fit well with the video. The credits were fine but the music wasn't cited.
OVERALL
overall we thought your film was good. What we liked best was the close-up shot of the make-up. Our strongest suggestion is that you work on the over the shoulder shots.

The conflict was between stealing or doing the right thing. The shots:
1. Extreme Closeup
2. two-shot
3. Over the shoulder
The shots at the close of up Sabrena biting her lip which showed of feeling guilty about stealing. You could make sabrena's voice louder because we cant hear her. The climax occured when after she bit her lip she decided not to steal and decides to return the item. In the resolution they returned the make up and left the store. You could add to the resolution by them smiling then walk away together. We especially liked the close up of sabrena biting her lip as she felt guilty of stealing. because it helped emphazise the idea she wanted to do the right thing. We give the editing a 7.5. One edit we would change was the shots after sabrena bites her lip. The use of music was good and it sounded like detective music it fits the message perfectly. The music was most important was when she takes the make up and puts it in her pocket. It was used to help emphazise the mood of suspicious. The title fits the idea of video good but could have more detail dealing with doing the right thing. Overall we liked your video it gave a good message to not steal and that good friends help you do the right thing.

Feedback Given By: Kenzie Campbell and Ivy Phelps
The conflict was between giving in to peer pressure and doing what you feel is the right choice for you despite alternative influences.
The shots, dialog and actions that contributed to the rising action:
1.Establishing shot of the makeup
2.Closeup shot of Sabrena biting her lip
3.Blanca influencing Sabrena to take the makeup
4. Sabrena is the first to walk in the store, therefore implying she is the one in charge of her life.
Suggestions about adding to the rising action:
You could add reason why Sabrena needs to steal the makeup.
The climax occurred when Sabrena tells Bianca that if they were really best friends she would not pressure her to steal.
Describe what happens during the resolution: The makeup is put back and there is a close up of the makeup.
You could add to the resolution by having the two friends exit the store together, or have an up close of Sabrena smiling as a contrast to her biting her lip earlier in the film.
This would help give us the idea that/create the impression that Sabrena did the right thing and that Bianca accepted that fact that she should respect Sabrena’s morals.
Camera shots
We especially like the close up of the makeup, because it helped emphasize the idea that Sabrena did not steal the makeup after being pressured by Bianca.
Edits:
On a scale of 1-10, we rate the editing a 7.
One edit we would change was the shot of the conversation just before the resolution when Sabrena tells Bianca that if she were really her friend she wouldn’t pressure her to steal.
We noticed there were multiple takes of the scene, therefore, there was a fluctuation in the editing because of the character placement and the fact that each take the characters were in a different position.
Use of music and sound effects:
a. The first time the music came in was during the opening scene of the film.
It was used to help emphasize the mood of anticipation of a choice and/or morals being tested.
It worked because it did not drown out the dialog, yet it acted as an attribute to the film because it created an accent parallel to the theme of decision making.
b. The most important point use of music was when Sabrena was biting her lip.
It was used to help emphasize the mood of making a choice based on one’s own morals.
It worked because the song embodied innocence yet had a level of intensity which amplified the idea that simply stealing one thing is still a major choice.

Titles and credits:
The title is parallel to the theme and reflected the overall message of the film well.
The credits lacked citing sources for music used during the film.
Overall:
Overall, we thought your film was straightforward and had a clear message.
What we liked best was the music played throughout the film.
Our strongest suggestion is that you add a reason why Bianca wanted Sabrena to steal the makeup so badly.

The conflict was between BFF1 and BFF2, they needed a makeup product so they stole im guessing one of there friends makeup but decided to put it back cause of the realazation of there move. Some of the shots used in this video was a close up of sabrenas mouth
and medium shot of blanca and sabrena talking.
I feel like you guys could have added more shots like an established shot of you guys showing up the blancas house that would of been good too. the climax of this video was when sabrena took the makeup product from a spot that wasnt even hers.
during the resolution sabrena thought of what she was doing as the closeup to her mouth accoured and she put it back where it belonged, your resolution was a tads short and you could of made it a little longer but its okay.
we especially liked the close-up of the mouth cause that showed that sabrena was really thinking it through if she was doing the right thing or not.we also think you could of added a few more shots as you pulled up to blancas house or something like that.
edits seemed pretty good but htere was a few that were a little scrapy but its okay its only the rough draft. rating 1-10 i give your edits an 8 which is a B average, really good. The music was really really good it set the right mood to the moral of the video and you should not change the mood and tempo of the music, the titles and credits could be aded a few more but other then that it was really good and you should remember the more the better
Overall:
i think this video was really goods and it was simole and pretty easy to understand and one big thing we suggest is that you can make your cuts a little cleaner.

The conflict was between to steal the makeup or not to steal it
Here are the shots, dialog and actions that contributed to the rising action:
1. when the two friends are talking about stealing the make up
2. when sabrena takes the make up
3.when sabrena bites her lips.
the rising action was very easy to tell and it was good. The climax occurred sabrena decided to put back the lipstick. In the resolution, sabrena walks out without the makeup
CAMERA SHOTS
We especially like the close up shot of sabrena when she bites her lip. ir shows that she doesnt know if what she is doing is right.
EDITS:
on a scale of 1-10 we rate the editing an 6. the first use of music is when they walk into the room, its a sneaky music and tells us something bad might happen. also the over the shoulder shots make the characters move when they shouldn’t.
TITLES AND CREDITS
the titles were good; it told us that an important decision was going to be made. The credits were too big at one point, and they didn’t credit the music.
OVERALL
overall the film was good. We suggest to fix the over the shoulder shots if you can

Draft -The Cost Of Friendship

Reflection:
The valuse that we are trying to represent is the values of friendship and what is right/wrong.I believe that our group has done a good job, we did the best we could.I still need to complete the music and some enditing , need to put some clips also of facial expressions. What we need most feed back about is the music and the edits. Im not sure we used the proper cuts. A big challenge that my group encountered is getting people together at times because i had to work and michelle had swimming practice. But another challenge we encountered is the camera angles because i am tall and sabrena is petite. So we had to keep moving the camera up and down to get the angles to look good. We had to make sabrena stand on a stool at one point.

Over the shoulder shot and reflection

REFLECTION-
My group planned the shots by not facing the sun because it would make our shot blurry . the angles were chosen by the angle of the sun because it was facing us. I think that we did follow the rule of thirds because they are not in the middle of the frame in each over the shoulder shot.
The impression made by the over the shoulder shot is that they were talking to eachother. this worked becasue they looked like they were facing eachother. The final edit looks good, it does in fact look realistic. i dont think it was to challenging editing, just in one part where they said there lines or dialouge to fast. that was the only part were me and Sabrena had trouble in. I think the mood is calm in our video except when Sabrena say's "like how much?" she seemed demanding. We acomplished this by keeping the personalitys calm.Another observation that i noticed in over the shoulder is that it can be fun and you need to be careful to place the people in the same spot all the time when they are talking.
